COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – An Italian restaurant recently opened its first central Ohio location at Easton Town Center.

Bar Italia began welcoming customers at 4145 The Strand West on Monday, according to a post on the eatery’s Facebook page. The “bar-centric” bistro, inspired by the Italian-American restaurants of New York City, offers fresh pasta and homemade sauces, Easton’s website states.

The Italian concept currently has two Ohio locations, with one in Lakewood and one in Beachwood. It also has two eateries in Florida, in Winter Park and Sarasota.

Bar Italia is a concept by Cleveland-based NCR (Next Cool Restaurant) Ventures. The restaurant group was founded by Rick Doody, who started his career in the industry at Lindey’s Restaurant & Bar in German Village, which was opened by his mother in 1981.

The Easton location offers appetizers, wood-fired pizza, salad and pasta dishes, such as spicy vodka rigate, shrimp spaghetti and a 24-layer lasagna. The eatery also offers a variety of cocktails, beer and wine.

Bar Italia at Easton is open for lunch daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is open for dinner on Mondays through Thursdays from 3 to 10 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 3 to 11 p.m., and Sundays from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
