Looking to upgrade my 15 ish year old Weber spirit 3 burner I got off market place for 40 bucks. Want to get a new grill while it’s on sale. I like the idea of the expansion top rack on genesis. I don’t think I really need a 4 burner but it’s around the same price so the spirit appears appealing. I just want a grill that will last 10 plus years. I’m sure both can last as long or longer. Just need help deciding.

The Genesis. It’s made much better. Stronger build with heavier metal gauge. It had the sear zone but even without it is more powerful in terms of BTU. Spirit is made in China (if you care) and the Genesis is partly made in USA. I’d go for the E-325S personally due to the stainless steel.
Genesis e325 is still $449 on wayfair for members. You’re welcome =D
Genesis..better made, more options
Weber kettle 😂lol
Get something with a side burner. It’ll expand the usability infinitely.
You only need to stand next to each one to figure this out. Genesis. No question.

I have the Genesis with the SS grates. I believe they are far superior to the cast iron grates as they don’t rust as easily. What you need to answer… how often are you grilling for more than 4 people? (Genesis) Do you need/want a side burner? (Spirit)
The Genesis is a bigger grill. Not to add more choices but I think you need to look at deciding between the Genesis with the Stainless Steel grates or the Spirit with the side burner. I do not have the side burner but sometimes wish I had that option. I think the Genesis if you take care of it and keep it covered most of the time is a buy it for life grill. I bought a CharBroil first and it rusted out within 3yrs. I said to myself I’m never doing that again to justify the $$
I have grilled on a Spirit for a party and wished I had more room. Also, unless you don’t have one around you, you should shop at Ace when you want to buy. Someone is going to take more time putting your grill together there Vs. Lowe’s/HD
