Context, neighbor I have is complaining that my smoker is turning his garage black, and that the cinder block wall that is between both house can’t take the heat of it even though when I use it, I back it away from the wall. He just want to complain because he complains about everything.

However, as I always do. I try to comply with these ass hats even though they are the most hated people on the block. Where do you think I should move it to? As I have the idea to move it out to the middle of my driveway away from the wall and away from their garage. Yet still allows me to share the smoker vented smoke with the jerk neighbor.

To spite this douche I would literally move it 3 ft into your driveway when I smoke and tell him to blow it out where the sun doesn’t shine. Keep grilling !!

Is this in a townhouse complex or some other dumb HOA/common area scheme where complaints have any actual power, or just a whiny annoying “regular” neighbor?

If the latter, tell him that if he wants to pay your mortgage and property taxes, he’s welcome to tell you how to use your property, otherwise he can kindly make like a tree and F off.

I respectfully will say… grow a set, and tell him to suck your balls. Then go grab a bull “appendage” smoke it and offer it up as a peace offering

Cinder blocks cant take the heat? Cinder. Blocks. Cinder…

Make a run to Home Depot and get enough block to raise the wall two feet and never see him again as you smoke away.

Replacing neighbours is tricky. But with enough pet skunks and a hole in the fence they’ll get the hint

Well, from a safety perspective it definitely needs to be 3 to 4 feet from anything that’s plastic like the vinyl on your house, or maybe a storage shed something like that.
After that, you just wanted enough airflow around it. For example, I’d want it at least a foot from that brick wall you’ve got.

Then again, I reread your post… And he’s complaining about heat? What temperature do you run your grill on? 650? Have you explained that the vast majority of pellet grill recipes call for 225 to 275?

    Paper doesn’t burn until 451° F.

Matter-of-fact I think there was a fairly famous book with that title.

I think that’s the most extensive amount advice that you should be using, because anything after that is a matter of smoke flying around in the air… And it’s not your job to control the wind. What are they gonna do complain to all eight or 10 people who live around you who could be doing an outside or backyard bbq? I’m mean really… What happens if he cooks a bunch of food that you don’t like and the wind blows it into your backyard.

Replace your smoke with a Breeo and all of the open fire cooking accessories. I’m sure he’ll love that aroma.

Go buy some 3″ metal tubing and put a smoke stack on the exhaust. Or tell him to call the cops and offer them some wings when they show up.

Smoke a slab for them… Nobody can be an asshole after some ribs.

Once in a while toss him a plate of smoked goodness. I bet the complaining will stop.

In fairness to him, I think you should be at least 4’ away from any of his house while smoking. It is unfair to be blowing smoke into his house or garage in anyway.

But other than that, he needs to get over it.

Respectfully id tell my neighbor to mind their own business

Tell him that when he starts to care about the water stain from his leaking gutter on his wall, you’ll look at the smoke issue. Until then, fuck off.

Set it to super smoke and cool a 22 pound brisket.
