Ramen is meant to be eaten at home. I cannot fathom spending the $10-$15 that restaurants charge for it.

They’re just totally different things to me… I’ll take both?
Nice (fresh) ramen from a ramen bar using tare, instant ramyeon noodles as part of comfort budae jjigae or kalbijjim at my local korean places, or fancied-up Shin or Mupama at home… there’s really no comparison but all are delicious in their own ways 🙂

If you’re going to eat ramyeon away from home, I’d say the real deal is at the expressway service areas. The firepower being used to cook those noodles fast is no joke. The measly stovetop at home just can’t replicate that *zing*.

If it’s Japanese-style ramen, I’ll go to a restaurant. Korean ramyun is home food.

Can’t find buldak outside. Can’t find Jinjjol outside. Can’t find jjapa outside (rarely can). All are ready in my pantry.

Definitely at home! I cook my noodles al dente then take of off the stove and cover with a lid for 1-2 extra minutes to get my preferred texture. Ordered ramen once at a restaurant and by the time it got cooked in the kitchen and served to me, the noodles were getting fat and “soggy”.

Depends. Fresh authentic Japanese ramen? Restaurants always. It’s super hard to replicate the way restaurants boil and simmer their broths and their noodles are always freshly made in-house.
But instant noodles? I don’t care if I get downvoted for this. Just cook it at home. Save your money.

Hmmm if we’re talking about instant ramen, i prefered ramen at home. I saute garlic, onion and the seasoning first before adding water.

Is “restos” actual slang people use? This is my first time seeing it. I don’t think I like it either. Anyway, I choose home.
