Mixer: You mix the rice and curry together so that you get an even distribution of flavor to rice.
Scooper: Get a bit of rice and/or meat and dip it in the curry

I'm actually usually a scooper, but I switched it up today. A lot of my friends are mixers though.

Im Japanese so I take my spoon and scoop up some rice (roughly half of the spoon) and then pick up some roux (other half of spoon) and then shove it in my fat face. They dont mix on the spoon.

Scooper here, sometimes my tongue needs a break so it just wants a bit of white rice that hasn’t been inundated with curry just to reset the palette.

I dip the meat in the curry, and make a volcano bowl out of the rice but just spoonful by spoonful so that the curry stays hot. Where do I live in your A-C world? Am I a woman beyond curry classification?

I suppose I’d be a scooper. I like to plate it the “iconic” way where you have half rice and half curry and each scoop has a variable combination of the two sides.
Though “donburi” style is fun from time to time as well. A bowl of rice and just dump the curry over the top, then eat it by inserting the spoon through the curry to get some rice and scooping out what curry comes up with it. Almost like eating it cross-section by cross-section.

Scooper is the only correct answer, and you don’t dip anything. You scoop some rice and curry, and eat the tokatsu as a separate bite.

I hate that the container so so small. The food’s almost falling out, no room for error.
1) Remove all the meat cutlets from the rice and curry
2) Mix the rice and curry together thoroughly
3) Eat the mixture while occasionally going for a cutlet untouched by curry
4) Definitely leave 1 or 2 meat cutlets for last
