I know we talk about The Bear and Whites a lot but any of y’all remember a BBC show from the 90s called “Chef!”?

Yooooo I do remember this!! I loved it! I haven’t thought about this in forever. The guy losing his “plaster” in the food is baked into my brain.

Wow real throwback. Always loved the show and definitely recommend it. It’s not like newer shows that handle similar material.

The episode with the unpasteurized cheese / devil’s lettuce is classic.

I remember the episode about acquiring the illegal cheese was great

It was no Pie in the Sky, that’s for sure

My mom used to watch this, every once in a while I would watch with her when I was a kid/teenager. The only thing I really remember, is one scene where the chef equates culinary timing with making love to your wife. And it was hilarious!

The pass was so weird, but I love this show so much. If I remember correctly the last series was a bit different.

Memory unlocked, my friend!
When Dad was married to Becky the First (different, longer story), she her daughter, and I would have proper British tea while watching BBC on cable Saturday nights. SO thankful for this injection of culture.
Loved this show. Did you know Chef was married to Dawn French from Vicar of Dibley?

This is my favorite kitchen show and hits closest to how reading Kitchen Confidential made me feel.

I’m 32. My parents are both chefs and they have the complete set on dvd. We watched it all the time in the early 2000’s when I was around 8- 10. It definitely stuck with me

Such a big thing growing up on BBC shows. Also, so real on some of the minutiae like food cost.
