3 of the 4 are OL machines. The Vertuo machine works completely different from the others. One does foamy crema. The other three do a more true crema (compared to dedicated espresso). Apple and oranges in other words.

They are not to be compared. Vertuo machines are coffeemakers designed to make conventional coffee drinks, including a standard cup of coffee. The Essenza is in the original like which are espresso machines. OL capsules can hold no more than 5 grams of coffee, so not only are they satisfactory for making a cup of coffee, they cannot make a double espresso. They can’t contain enough coffee.
Vertuo machines can try to emulate espresso using Vertuo pods with espresso grind and roast coffee and barcoded to make espresso size drinks. The result is not bad, but real espresso fans will like be disappointed. If you aren’t a big espresso person and only want an occasional short, strong coffee but usually want an 8-ounce coffee, get the Vertuo. If you want real espresso and don’t mind that the only coffee approaching an American cup of coffee would be a 5-ounce Americano (a single espresso with hot water added), get an OL.
If you opt for the Vertuo, avoid the Next, which is the subject of a lawsuit on account of Nespresso continuing to sell a flawed machine. I recommend a Plus. A more reliable machine. All the OL machines, being simpler devices, seem very reliable.
