Fans of the late Anne Burrell will get a chance to see the late cook’s last season of “Worst Cooks in America” soon.

Just over a month after the Food Network personality unexpectedly passed away, The Food Network has announced that it will air her final season, called “Worst Cooks in America: Talented and Terrible,” starting Monday, July 28, at 9:00 p.m. ET.

The Food Network says co-mentor Gabe Bertaccini will also be featured on the show.

Leading up to the new season, The Food Network has been airing specific episodes of “Worst Cooks In America.” They say those chosen “highlight Anne’s extraordinary talent as a chef, competitor and teacher.”

In a press release by the network, Betsy Ayala, Head of Content, Food, Warner Bros. Discovery says, “Anne Burrell was a one-of-a-kind talent whose loss is being deeply felt by family, friends and fans. With these special programming events, we hope to honor Anne and celebrate her impact on Food Network and beyond.”

Anne Burrell Performed Stand-Up Comedy Just Hours Before Passing

Anne Burrell was known for her humor on “Worst Cooks in America.” And she was honing that skill just hours before her unexpected death.

The 55-year-old had performed a stand-up comedy routine on June 16. That was just hours before being found unresponsive by her husband the next morning.

In an Instagram post days before her death, Burrell talked about taking Improv classes at the famed Second City. She wrote, “Sooooooo… as I have mentioned I have been taking Improv classes @thesecondcitytc and having an ABSOLUTE blast!!! My class and I are coming to the end of this term and we get to do an actual show!!! If anyone is interested in stopping by on Monday June 16 at 9 pm @thesecondcity in Brooklyn please feel free!! We are a small but SUPER fun bunch!!”

‘Worst Cooks In America’s’ New Season Flips the Format

The upcoming season of “Worst Cooks In America: Talented and Terrible” flips the format a bit from the typical season.

The Food Network describes the upcoming season, writing that it “showcases recruits who are professional performers and used to stealing the spotlight, but in the kitchen, they are dishing out disasters. Anne is joined by the boot camp’s newest mentor, chef Gabe Bertaccini, as they work together to turn these culinary flops into food masters.”

A synopsis of the first episode reads like this: “In the first episode, Anne and Gabe have their work cut out for them as they attempt to turn a bunch of culinary train wrecks into kitchen stars, but first, they need to know what they’re up against. The recruits kick things off with their signature showstopper dish, and in the main dish challenge, they tackle the ultimate test: re-creating the chefs’ “winner winner chicken dinner.” Those with promise move on, while the rest face elimination. Across the season, with guidance from Anne and Gabe, the recruits will tackle restaurant classics, try to master global cuisines and compete in the fan-favorite Remote Control Chef challenge, all in their bid to be the best of the worst.”

You can watch the new season of “Worst Cooks In America: Talented and Terrible” starting July 28 at 9:00 p.m. on The Food Network. And streaming the next day on HBO Max.
