Theme: Continental, inspired by the chefs' Surinamese and Indonesian origins

Would I recommend it? Yes. It does meet the threshold for an interesting restaurant that stands out above the others in Rotterdam.. But they are closing the restaurant mid July

Was it a good experience? No complaints

Was it innovative in taste? Yes

Price/value? Normal, €110 for 5 courses

Food notes:
The chef was proud to include his Surinamese origins using the typical spice blend from that region, not in an overpowering but in a hinting manner. He mentioned one of the other sous chefs was from Indonesia and had also influenced a dish with a hint of rendang style food.

One dish used a sauce of fresh green beans, and it was a very surprising taste. The dessert was outstanding. The potato dish was one of "excuse me what??" – see my dining experience in JATAK. The potato was cooked perfectly, infused with hint of spices, but still, odd menu item. Shows both bravado from the chef but also causes a bit of head scratching.
