That’s it? I thought Gyumu Supa was supposed to be inexpensive?

I guess if you cut the watermelon out and that would’ve been 5500 yen?
What I love getting at gyomu are the chocolate lava cakes or rich cheesecakes.
2 lava cakes for 350 yen An 9 inch rich cheese cake for 350 yen Japan’s version of cookies and cream for 100

No way that was ¥7000.

Mine watermelon….!!!!!! 水瓜 와우!!!

Not to be the contrarian but let’s put this in perspective, how much, say were the bean sprouts, eggs, fresh ramen, and tofu? Add even 1000yen for the protein/meat of your choice and it would still be like 1500yen for any kind of saute/nabe/sukiyaki/ramen meal for 2 or more people.

Well, as i shared, the point was perspective since groceries are overall significantly cheaper than the US. Anyway I am not doubting what your bill was nor your choices but yeah certain items like fruits are acceptably higher so we just dont eat as much of it. P.S. super gyomu sprouts are about 40 yen for a big bag, 220 yen for 10 eggs, tofu 100 yen, and depends where but sometimes they have 50yen fresh packs of ramen that are better than instant noodles, which you can freeze.

I spent 41000¥ on a Costco run yesterday. I regret nothing. Sometimes you just need cheese and chocolate chip cookies.
I also got watermelon on my regular weekly trip this week. So worth it!
