Thanks to this fantastic sub, I made the most delicious brownies I’ve ever had.
I followed THE u/moonjelly33 recipe, but decreased the sugar slightly (225g white, 75g brown) like u/CanYouJustNot08 suggested. I’ll link both posts in the comments.
I also changed up the baking temp and time because my first attempt in an 8×8 pan came out slightly wet in the middle. This time I followed the Alton Brown method: 300°F for 15 min, remove from the oven for 15 min, back into the oven for 30 min more (or until the center is 195°F). This did the trick! They came out perfectly chewy but not underbaked or wet at all. The consistency was also noticeably more uniform with less dryness around the edges, so this method might not be for you if you cherish those crispy sides. I, however, want as much of that chewy gooey goodness as I can get!

I can feel a new wave of Brownies part II posts incoming.
This might be the first brownie recipe that I’ll try. Maybe. Not a fan of a lot of chocolate but I really want to bake a brownie 😂
I’m one of those who *loves* the middle and not the crunchy edges. You just made my year! (and ruined my husband’s hahaha)
Oh my oh my……
Omg I made them the other day with raspberries and I thank the lord for this recipe!!!!
Having just made a (disappointing) batch of brownies that were far too cake like for my family’s liking, I may have to redeem myself by making these 💕
Ayyyee! I absolutely do not cherish crispy edges. I’m so excited to try this. Thanks for sharing. 🤎
Those look amazing! Thank you so much for including your recipe and methods. 🤎
I turned THE brownies into brownie pie not too long ago. It was delish. If anyone wants the recipe, it is [here](https://www.vosshomebakery.com/recipes/brownie-pie)
I’m literally gonna try and make these today for our campaign meet tomorrow 😯
HOW DARE YOU
not send me one
I baked some Alton Brown method brownies yesterday! But I used boxed mix 🫣
These look amazing.
I rarely ever think making brownies from scratch is worth the effort. (Ghirardelli Costco mix FTW.)
But these look like they would be worth it.
These look incredible! Thanks for sharing the small changes you made as well.
I await the arrival of my sweet package
I’m always happy to see another wave of brownies and cinnamonrolls
SAVED. thanks for this!
OP do you do delivery because 😍🤤
I have a friend with Ehler’s Danlos, and she has been rapidly losing weight due to her illness, her doctor is afraid her heart will fail if she continues losing weight. I have celiac, and I frequently suit up in a mask and gloves to make her The Brownies. It’s one of the only things she truly enjoys eating.
It’s… It’s so beautiful 🥹
I agree….I love the gooeyness. Add ice cream and it is hard to beat! I will have to try the Alton Brown baking method. Interesting to remove from the oven and then put back
Omg I made these brownies for a potluck last year and my friends said they were the best brownies they’ve ever had and haven’t stopped talking about them since. I’ll have to try these extra tips!
Curious why you decided to go with less sugar. Just to be less sweet? Or is there some other benefit?
The 15 min in, 15 min out, 30 min in is an interesting strategy! I may try that next time.
I just made these yesterday. I made a chocolate buttercream frosting with a little espresso powder in it to top. Amazing. Highly recommend.
I made them today but followed u/moonjelly33 recipe to a T.
Something in me was screaming to put the batter in my 8X8 pan, I did not though. And now that I’ve seen yours next time I’m 100% putting them in the 8X8. Regardless mine came out delicious!
Hope you enjoy them as much as I’m enjoying mine!
