Tuna Mayo with Sweetcorn (UK) & Pringles
My one piece of advice for anyone trying to lose weight is to make sure you eat what you want as long as it fits in to your calorie goal. I would fall off track so fast if I wasn’t allowed crisps, pizza, ice cream etc. Sure, you can eat super strict, but can you maintain that for your entire life? And yeah SOME people probably can. We all know those people who can be super strict, and we all wish we were them. And some just lie on social media. But for MOST, you have to find ways to fit in treats or you will fail. You have to think about changing eating habits for good, not just 6 months – 1 year of losing weight. You will get so frustrated and just give up. So that means a lifetime of compromise. Make it easy to stick to.
I have binge eating disorder and without these treats sprinkled in, I would end up eating the entire tube of pringles! Because eating pringles by itself— I’d still be hungry, still be craving afterwards. But by putting them with something already low calorie, it fulfils my want for a nice snack and keeps me on track.
This meal is 360kcal for my lunch. I could have paired my tuna with crackers or lettuce, but since it was low calorie, I added in pringles.
Also, meals don’t always have to be fancy with lots of stuff. This prob is gross and unappealing to most people, but it gets me thru the middle of my day until my evening meal.
Just some rambling here in the case a noobie to weight loss sees this post. And a reminder to us who are sometimes too hard on ourselves. It’s fine to enjoy food. If you catch yourself seeing a post of people posting themselves eating 2 cucumbers for lunch, and you feel guilty about needing to volume eat, or liking to add in “unhealthy” snacks, that is their problem not yours. Some people punish themselves over food and that is just as bad as overeating. Just focus on the calories in and calories out and it’ll be fine. Thermodynamics has your back.
