Was I supposed to prune? It just kind of went off.
My poor cucumbers and peppers never stood a chance. I saw a post yesterday that someone was pruning every week and I thought maybe I should have done that.

Doesn’t matter now, you serve the plant and it wants to grow

How many plants do you have? You can try pruning and staking and supporting some so you can find the fruit and make it easier to dry out in the middle. Having a mess in there means more likely to develop fungus

how many plants is this? just curious bc it’s huge lol

i’d say you definitely should trim some now for air flow

No, it looks very healthy. But probably less Nitrogen from now on, more PK for more fruit.

I’m guessing this is 4 plants? Looks like they are way too close together.
Definitely need to prune to get some airflow in there.

You’ll need hedge clippers but go ahead and trim. Tomatoes are weeds. They’ll grow back even bushier in no time. Have fun.

What variety of tomato is this?

Leaves are so green and beautiful. What healthy-looking plants. Excellent job.
Never too late to start pruning. Start conservatively.

I feel really embarrassed for my own tomato plant sizes right now 😂
Waddagoodboyyyyy
Those tomatoes own you now!
I prune once a week/ or as needed from there on.
I’m so stinkin jealous- my seedling went into the ground May 20th and won’t get anywhere close to this size cause our zones season is soooo short 😭😭
Mines doing the same thing😭 as long as it’s healthy it’s fine. More leafs= more photosynthesis=more space for blooms

I just went on a deep dive of YouTube videos about pruning and am still very confused! Just kidding.. sorta! I understand the fundamentals now but it still seems like just a lot of judgement calls and learning as you go. I know what I can do now but it seems like pruning tomatoes is a little bit of magic and a lot of welp you just do what you do. I would say at the very least you should prune the leaves that are touching the ground and any that are dead or dying. Use sharp pruners and prune in the morning. Good luck!
