#italianbreaddip #breaddippingoil #oliveoildip

Today we’re going to be making bread oil dip
just like you see at Italian restaurants. I’m Rose Oatley. Let’s get cooking! First, let’s whip up our spice
blend. Grab a shallow plate, and we’ll start with 2 teaspoons of garlic powder. Next, we’ll add 1 teaspoon of thyme,
1 tsp of rosemary, 1 tsp of basil,
1 tsp oregano, 1/2 tsp of red chili flakes
or more if you like it spicy. Start with 1 teaspoon of salt.
You can add more later if needed. Oh! Before I forget, let’s sprinkle in about half a teaspoon of black pepper. It’s
all about those layers of flavor! I typically also add 1 tsp of
parsley but I’m out of it today. Mix all the ingredients together. If you want a big batch, use
it all but here’s a little tip: I love to keep this spice mix handy. So I like
to store it in a spice container. This way, you can use a little today and
save the rest for another day. Now let’s give our jar, a little shake! If
interested, I’ll post a link to these jars in the description section below
or in my bio for other platforms. For this serving today, I’m going to add 1
tbsp of our spice blend to my shallow plate. If you’re saving the rest for later,
make sure you use dried spices like I did today. You don’t want to use
fresh. Otherwise they won’t keep. Next up, the star of the show: extra virgin olive
oil! Today, I’m using Bertolli, which is great, but if you really want to elevate your dip, I
recommend a high-quality olive oil like Colavita. For the oil, you can pour in as much as you
want. If you need a little more guidance, start with 1/2 a cup and work your way up. Next, let’s sprinkle in 2 teaspoons
of freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Since the cheese is fresh, only add it
to the plate you’ll be enjoying today. Don’t add it to your jar and feel free to
add more cheese to your plate if you like. Give it a good mix to combine, and let those
flavors meld while we work on our bread. I’ve got a lovely baguette here, but
you can use French bread or whatever you prefer. Let’s slice it up and
arrange it on a cookie sheet pan. Now, pop it in the oven at 350°F
or 180°C for 6 to 8 minutes, depending on the thickness of your slices. I’m
going with 6 minutes for that perfect crisp! My bread is out of the oven. Let me show you
a close up so you can look at this beauty! I can’t wait to dip that warm
bread into our fragrant oil and spice blend—oh my goodness,
this is going to be amazing! And there you have it! A simple, delicious bread
oil dip that will impress your friends and family. Time to dig in, Mmmm
