1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. margarine
Cream margarine and sugar. Add egg and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Roll out, shape, freeze. Slice and bake at 375 degrees for 6-8 minutes. For “black” add 2 tsp. cocoa, 1 tsp. sugar, 1 Tb. milk.
Hello everybody. Today we are going to learn how to make black and white cookies. But they don’t necessarily need to be black and white. They can be different colors. These are the necessary items. These are the optional items that you can add in. The first step is to cream the butter with the sugar. So I they’re half a cup of butter. I’ve softened it a little. So, in the bowl, you need 2/3 of a cup of sugar. So, I’ve got a 1/3 cup right here. One and two. And now it is time to mix. A lot of mixing later. I have this. Now, it doesn’t look like a cookie, and that is good because it shouldn’t. So, now we’re going to add an egg and a teaspoon of vanilla. I’ve got my teaspoon of vanilla and one egg. And now I mix it. Now, after all that mixing, it should look like this. And it still shouldn’t look like a cookie. And if it does, I congratulate you because it is very strange. Now we combine our dry ingredients. So first that would be 1 and 34 of a cup of flour. So here is one. Here is one. two and [Music] now you should have a big lump of flour. We add the baking powder. So you need one teaspoon of baking. There we go. Now we just mix it together and and after a little bit it should look pretty good like this. Now we add in our dry ingredients. [Music] Now we need ice. Now if you want to make black You can either split this batch in half and then follow the instructions or you can make another batch and follow the instructions with that batch. Now I’ve made it a lump on the ground and bump on the counter. I’m going to split it in half like that. And if you’re making another batch for black, just follow these instructions except double the amounts. I’m going to add one teaspoon of cocoa. [Music] So if you’re making another batch, you want to add two. Now you want half a teaspoon of sugar. So for a batch for chocolate, you want one teaspoon of sugar. And I’m doing three half teaspoon of milk. So this is because in the recipe for the batch, you want a tablespoon. There’s three teaspoons. A tablespoon. Two. Three. So half a tablespoon is one 0.5% of the tablespoon which is 1.5 teaspoon. So I am doing three half teaspoons which is 1/2 one and a half. Now I will see. Then you have black or brown. It’s black. So for white, you’re just going to want white. Well, just the plain vanilla. Well, I’m going to show you how to do colors. It’s like Play-Doh. few drops. And then you don’t want to put it on the top. You want to put it in the middle. And then fold it over. And then you just want to fold. Fold. Just keep folding. So the color is here. So, I have done all of the color of this, but I think it should be a little bit dark. So, I’m just going to drop for two of the color. [Music] So, made it the color that I want. Now going to get a parchment paper, lock it on, and just make it go into a small. So this is a good size. Now I’m going to do again. [Music] this up [Music] and I think that’s pretty good. Now I will put these two in the fridge. So, I have put some parchment paper underneath these because they need to be covered, otherwise they’ll dry out. I’ve put them in the fridge. After about an hour of refrigerating, I have gotten them both out and I’ve shaped the black one into a rectangle or circular rectangle. I’m currently rolling this one to be another rectangle. [Music] So, I’ve rolled these two out to be about the same size. So now we’re going to put them on top of each other. [Music] Looks good. And then it should just [Music] here. And I’ve laid them on top of each other. So now I will roll them up to create this nice swirling effect. [Music] like that and it’s horrible. So, I’m going to use the meth a method of cutting that I really like. It’s uses string and first put it under thing. Roll then castle then just pull. Shazam. It’s cut. That’s a flower shaped cookie. Now [Music] around and cut. Take out nice swirly cookie. [Music] Now I’ve got them all cut up and it’s time to put them in the oven. So I need it to be at 375. Okay. So put these in here. [Music] 6 to 8 minutes. So it I said 6 minutes was good, but it actually wasn’t. I have to Put it in for 9 minutes, but they still worked. It looked great. Time for the taste test. This one. [Music] So good. [Music] These are really good. I like the color combination that I chose as well. I’ll have another bite. [Music] Thank you for watching this video. I hope that we can do another one. [Music]
