First time making pesto. Was happy with how it turned out! Used up a bunch of fresh basil from the garden too.

Listen to me you absolute maniac, pesto comes from the Italian word pestare which means to pound, you get a pestle and you pound the basil the pine nuts the garlic and lastly the Parmesan with olive oil, If I see one more pesto post with blended basil. I am going to dig my grandma up from San Valentino Italy so she can scream at you like she used to scream at me. 🫠

How is your pesto bright emerald green? Mine always gets a bit brown/mud colored. Still tastes great but not as pretty
