Mines been cracked like this, and all the way up the back side. I have the replacement part(s), but I’m still running strong.
Not sure of the size of your egg, but build a small paver area in your yard and hire a couple buddies to help you move it there instead of your wood deck. This way if it fails catastrophically, you won’t have a bigger disaster on your hands.

I also got a hand me down and it was cracked just like that. Patched it up with [this](https://www.jjgeorgestore.com/big-green-egg-kamado-joe-ceramic-grill-repair-kit/) and it’s been fine. Only been a couple months but no smoke leaking or anything, and for $30 and a couple hours of work I’m super happy with it. Plenty of how-to videos on YouTube
