HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – It has been 10 years since Brother’s Italian Restaurant opened it’s doors to the Harrisonburg community.
This local restaurant was opened by two brothers in 2015. Owner Massimo Coppola said his brother is now back home, taking care of their mother.
Despite his brother no longer being here, Coppola has continued to run the restaurant and provide service to the community. He said he is proud of what they have built over the past 10 years, but he could not have done it without the people of Harrisonburg.
“For a small business like my place, it is not easy to compete with big corporations,” Coppola said.
As a small business owner, Brother’s Italian prides itself on being able to help those in the community.
“This cannot just be to make money,” Coppola said. “Money is important because we have to pay the bills, but you have to try to give back.”
The restaurant is able to host fundraiser events for a local soccer team to help with tournaments they attend, and Coppola said, “When they get back, we will have a pizza party.”
Coppola said the success of Brother’s Italian Restaurant is rooted in the Harrisonburg community.
Guest were greeted with a grateful smile today, a smile thanking them for their support over the last decade. To show their customers appreciation for dining in with them on their big day, guests were able to pick a dessert on the house.
