    I think a lack of grey band makes steak seem more rare than it is to a casual eye. Awesome looking steak.

    Most people are used to a grey band even in medium rare that’s probably what’s going on

    Your friends don’t know what they’re talking about. Might be the color balance on the photo or my monitor, but that looks like medium to me.
