This place needs no introduction. Located on the 2nd floor (surprisingly high) of the Eiffel Tower, you have go through security, entrance 1 located in the park to the side. Make sure you get there a bit early in case there’s a long line, but supposedly entrance 1 has much less people than entrance 2. There’s a private elevator that will take you up to the restaurant, after you finish your meal, you can use their private stairs to the observation deck with 360 degree views. Tables against the window are only for 2, the rest are against the wall. 5 courses for €290 or 7 courses for €320. We went with 7.
Food: Usually with iconic locations like this, food is an afterthought and catered towards tourists. Not the case at Le Jules Verne. Yes a lot of the dishes are foamy and circular but they were generally well executed with a couple of highlights. I especially like the lobster, turbot, langoustine and chocolate soufflé. Lots of depth of flavor and perfectly cooked. Beurre blanc sauce complimented the turbot well and the Parmesan cream accompanying the langoustine was deliciously decadent. I think the 2** is warranted, probably not a strong 2** but a weaker or middle of the pack one depending on your preferences.
Service: Good for the most part. Some are more friendly than others. Pacing of the meal was good.
Ambiance: The true highlight. Just an incredible feeling eating a great meal with this type of view. They have also upgraded their dress code, mandatory jackets for men. Even in the summer. I don’t know if it’s because of the view or light music playing in the background but I felt the most comfortable and relaxed here even with their strict dress code. We got the best seat even though we were the last table to arrive, I think because I grabbed the reservation the second it went live? Something to make a note of.
Summary: If you’re planning to visit the Eiffel Tower and you’re looking for a VIP experience, this is a no brainer. Cut the hectic lines and get a great meal out of it, the ultimate two birds one stone. Big bucket list item checked off.

It’s also one of the few fine dining restaurants open on Sundays in Paris.
Has anyone been to both Jules Verne and Le Pre Catelan? They look similar, how do they compare?

I am so glad I saw this post. I have a reservation here soon and completely missed the suit jacket requirement, so I would have been in Paris without even having the proper attire!
Now I guess I have to pack my suit too lol
That said, your post made me even more excited for my reservation!
Do you know how strict they are on the blazer vs. suit coat distinction? I had a jacket that has a matching trouser, but it’s “technically” a blazer, so I’m a bit apprehensive of bringing that or going full-on suit
