Reverse sear at 225 for 30 min then 3-4 minutes on cast iron with avocado oil, butter, and garlic flipping by every 10-15 seconds.

I love the result, great looking filet! Mmm!

I cant taste it. You tell us how you did

Looks great, a little uneven on the top vs bottom with the med rare. Your sides could use some work, and a nice dollop of steakhouse butter on top or some other sauce like a red wine reduction on the bottom would do nicely.

Filet is a great steak to learn how to cook steak with. Just sear the shit out of it and pull it from the grill.

What temp should I go for to achieve a similar result?

Awesome. Living in a car has me so jealous of people that can cook their own steaks. Right up there with showering whenever…lol

Listen, did you know if you Google the word askew (even on phones) the entire page will tilt…

    Well now you do…

I don’t even like steak like that, but I’ve learned a lot about what a good steak looks like from this sub lol

Makes me want to try one again

If it’s seasoned as good as it looks you can retire

Looks great but I need about 3 plates of those portion sizes 😀

Steak looks very good. The rest makes me sad.

    Great cook.

That said, “Prime” fliet is such a misnomer. Grade is determined on the marbling quality, usually of the ribeye of the whole cow.

That has pretty much zero marbling. It was graded based on the quality of other parts of the cow.
