Plenty of chillis growing over here in the UK, a hot summer for us so far with temps hitting early 30c interspersed with downpours. Here’s a handful of the 45 plants I’ve got going this year, mainly Annuums and Baccatums as the Chinense and Rocotos are slower growers. I’ve noticed a handful of developing pods with Blossom End Rot so will be watering with a calcium supplement as soon as they’ve dried out a bit.
1) Friarello di Napoli
2) Serrano Tempiqueno
3) Serenade (seeds from a very useful ‘typical’ supermarket red chilli from Aldi)
4) Again, seeds from a very tasty long red chilli bought from an Asian groceries, named Khan’s Bounty after him.
5) Poblanos almost ready
6) Bangalore Whippet’s Tail
7) Aji Chicotillo, love the shape of these pods
8) Brazilian Starfish from a big overwintered plant, didn’t even see pods on this plant until September last year so really ahead of the game.
9) Tomatillo Verde, not chillis but growing four big Tomatillo plants this year, heavy croppers and the pollinator insects love them! Mucho Salsa
10) Sugar Rush Rojo, first time growing this.
11) Aji Guyana 🇬🇾, I much prefer plants with big pods.
12) Sugar Rush Stripey.
