ECM Mechanika Max as my first espresso machine. No different than a lot of users spent the first half a bag of coffee trying to “dial it in” before I got something I was proud of.
So far the most challenging has been steaming milk it is such a difference from using a bellman I was not expecting the steam pressure to be much higher. milk gets hot super quick.

The pandemic did the same thing for me! French press to aeropress to chemex to buying a Gaggia Classic just 2 weeks ago lol
Enjoy the process for milk steaming! It’ll take 100s of cups and hours of YouTube before you’re dialed in, but it’s worth it. You can practice with water and dish soap so you don’t have to waste milk or make an espresso.
I like Emilee’s tutorial the best. https://youtu.be/SswxZZlgEyg?si=mJUVOWYIPrveLSWe
I got the same unit. Makes a nice brew.
Did a similar transition during the pandemic!
Went from French Press to a Sage Barista Touch. I wanted an all in one solution… Looking into grinder now though
Are you happy with your DF64?
Do u recommend me buying one ? Im still new to espresso i have been drinking instant coffee but I upgraded lol
Say goodbye to doing those hilarious youtube tutorials of people frothing milk using a french press and a microwave!
What grinder are you using?
