MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – On Thursday, Marquette Senior High School students got a taste of France.

The Frenchtastic food truck stopped by two French classes.

Owner Claire Prudent shared food and recipes. Students were able to ask her questions about France and how the food was made.

MSHS French teacher Kelly Simon says the class is learning about French food right now and how it ties in with the culture.

She says this lets students see and taste what they learn.

“We’re sitting in a classroom all year with a textbook and videos, we’re so far from France,” Simon said. “It’s nice for the kids to see, ‘Oh wow, this is real, what I’ve been putting my time and effort into is actually real.’”

This is the first year the classes have done something like this.

The food was paid for by a parent from the district.
