About 15 inches apart. Is this a bad idea? Was rearranging to maximize space and ran into this. Thoughts?

Uhh… that’s too close for me personally.

That vent only sucks in the oxygen for the fire. Grill on

Not really, unless you’re going full bore with the vents wide open.

    Do you like ‘splosions?

Because this is how you get ‘splosions.

  5. Thanks everyone for confirming what I already knew.

  6. No – not a bad idea at all. Think about how hot (and large) a piece of burning ash/coal would have to be to even remotely penetrate a steel propane tank’s wall. Yeah I get that general proximity could seem alarming but as an engineer you think through the properties of the materials and what it takes to cause a negative interaction.

    Edit: Typo

Idk I’ve had mine close to my blackstone like this for a few years now and never even thought about it

  8. Just roll it a foot or two further away when you want to use it.

  9. Ehhh you might be okay, but I wouldnt have them that close simply for safety. Tbh id probably put them each on opposite sites of the patio area.

  10. It’s fine. The actual fire from the grill is closer to the tank than the kamado

Using an ameragas refill? Yeah, that’s a bad idea. You’re getting 75% of what you’re paying for. 20 tank. You get 15.

Not in a “scares me” sense, but I’d move anything like that further if you got the room. Even if you don’t.

Unless I’m missing something, propane tanks already sit in close proximity, directly under, the propane grills they’re used for. I don’t see an issue.

Stick a 2ft x 2ft 3/4″ piece of plywood between the two. Done.

Y’all know propane assisted offsets have a tank directly next to a fire box? This isn’t a concern unless the gas line on the grill is leaking while you run the Joe.

It’s just as close as the flame in your propane grill. Maybe even further

This is the slippery slope we’ve been hearing about… grill on grill action. WHATS NEXT!?
