MOORESTOWN, NJ — Wednesday is French Fry Day, a day to savor the deliciousness that comes from deep-frying potatoes cut into an accordion, curly Q, waffle or thin strip.

Americans eat some 30 pounds of French fries annually, according to the South Florida Observer.

The word French in their name is a bit of a misnomer since it is commonly accepted that the Belgians were the first to create the dish, National Geographic said.

Many other eateries with locations throughout New Jersey are offering French fry specials today — read about them by clicking here.

Regardless of where you buy your French fries today, it is a safe bet that none of these places will charge the $200 that New York City’s Serendipity3 charges for a portion of its French fries.

Serendipity3’s fries, called Crème de la Crème Pommes Frites, are made from “high-quality Chipperbeck potatoes and are cooked three times in pure goose fat, which comes directly from Southwest France,” according to thrillist.com.

The restaurant also blanches their potatoes in Dom Perignon Champagne and J. LeBlanc French Champagne Ardenne Vinegar and tops them with shaved Crete Senesi Pecorino Tartufello and black summer truffles and Guerande truffle salt, thrillist.com said.

Do not even think about asking for ketchup, ranch dressing, malt vinegar or cheese with these.

Serendipity3’s fries come with Mornay sauce made with udder cream, black truffle butter, and gruyere truffled swiss raclete and are sprinkled with gold dust that is edible, according to thrillist.com.
