Another user, u/Afraid_Salamander_14 shared a link to recipes for college students on Budget bytes. I made the first recipe on the list but with leftover grilled pork chops I had in the freezer. Also subbed garlic scapes since I didn’t have green onions but had scapes in my garden

That pic makes me so damn hungry🥲 Great post.

  2. I got the recipe on Budget Bytes but adjusted it to what I had on hand. Original used scrambled egg as the protein. I had grilled chops in the freezer and wasn’t sure what to do with them. This recipe seemed like a good match. I also quadrupled the recipe as it was for 4 of us.

1 box of noodles, lo mein or linguine ( I used linguine) boiled

    4 T butter

    1 T crushed red pepper

    3 T brown sugar

    4 T soy sauce

    5 T sriracha

    sliced grilled pork

    chopped garlic scapes

Make a sauce of the soy sauce, sriracha, red pepper, and brown sugar. Set aside.

While noodles boil, melt butter in pan. Saute the grilled meat for a few minutes. Throw in the garlic scapes (scapes are a lot firmer than green onions so need to soften a little).

Add cooked noodles to pan with the meat and scapes. Pour the sauce over and mix to combine.
