I judge you. You always taste the broth first. Always.

Probably something from your childhood

Leaving all those sprouts is borderline illegal.

Unless it says it spicy, you’re pretty safe adding spice to Pho. You’re just getting it how you like it-I support your decision.

Weird?!?
In this subreddit, you’re completely normal!

Pho joints will usually provide Birds Eye Chiles if you ask. It kicks the pho up a notch without changing the flavor profile of the broth too much like sriracha does. That said, sriracha does add a nice depth to the broth so I’d recommend them both 😅

I do the same thing. You’re not alone!

As a chicken pho aficionado, I recommend trying bun bo hue if one of your local Vietnamese restaurants sells it. I still love chicken pho but the heat and flavor of bun bo hue is fantastic.

Not weird, normal! But add those damn sprouts!

I nuke my pho with like 1/4 of the sriracha bottle pre taste

There is one rule to pho and its “everything goes in the bowl!!”

Hey, you know how you like your phó!

Is that just chili oil on the side for dipping or did you pour that in?
I recommend adding some hosin sauce into that as well, for dipping purpose. (Also hoping you add hosin to the broth as well) [Hosin sauce is the [dark colored sauce](https://i.imgur.com/1DpdUuH_d.webp?maxwidth=760&fidelity=grand) usually in a bottle as they refill it, they will be on the table if you eating at a Viet place]
My family typically make a 50/50 Hosin/sirracha dipping sauce so we can have the spice and flavor without overpowering the broth.

If it was something special, I would taste it on its own first.
If it is just some pho from a joint, ya add your stuff how you like. You’re gonna add it anyway.
