I was once tasked with pitting a very large number of cherries. After a while my chef says to me “your hands are going to be red for a week. Why aren’t you wearing gloves!?!” I responded “that would have been a fantastic idea if I had thought of it 30 minutes ago. Kinda past the point of no return here, chef!”

Cutting board on the deli coolers forever stained red because no one stopped the new guy from cutting cooked beets on it….
