Do you want to make incredible ribs, but don’t have a smoker? No problem!!! These ribs only require an easy to make spice rub, an oven and a good amount of time. I bake my ribs, in this case Spare Ribs (St. Louis style) at 250F for a total of 5-6 hours. I always start them uncovered on foil for 3 hours, then wrap tightly in aluminum foil, and continue to bake for another 1-2 hours. The “tong test” is key here, as it’ll easily show you if the ribs are done or not (if they are flexible or break, they’re done, if not, put them in for another 20 minutes and check again). A last, but very important step is to brush the ribs with BBQ sauce, as that helps get that beautiful shine and glaze that we all come to expect.
These weren’t prepped ahead of time, other than simply applying the rub and waiting for the oven to pre-heat. I truly think I will move away from using my smoker in the future, as I don’t think ribs can be better than these.

Hello friends, welcome to Fruities. Today we got a great episode. Super easy rib recipe I’m going to show you. Let’s jump right in. Got a full rack of spare ribs here. They were in the freezer, so I thawled them out. Drying with a paper towel and then applying my rub. It’s chili powder, garlic, onion powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, brown sugar, and salt. I’m applying top and bottom. Getting nice and thoroughly rubbed. And then I’m switching to a clean piece of foil because I don’t want any of the sugar to burn in the pan. 2 hours later, 250° F. They’re looking great, but not ready yet. So, we’re going to actually cook these for 3 hours uncovered. And then we’re going to come back and we’re going to cover them with foil really tightly. And then we’re going to essentially steam them for the last hour or two. So, I’ll check these once an hour to make sure they’re where I want. And it’s just a matter of time. So, simply put, back in the oven. Hour later, check them. This was the second hour just for awareness. That was 5 hours in the cooking. You see we got a nice bone exposed. A rib tongue test or see how they’re jiggling. A lot of juice. These are I mean these are done. This Oh yeah. Oh well. Guess there’s no arguing that was done. Ribs are done. So we’re going to stop now. I’m going to essentially just let these sit. And the final step is just applying barbecue sauce. So I’m just applying a nice layer until I get that sheen that I want. And then these bad boys are ready to go. We’re done. I’m ready to eat. It’s still very hot. Wa! Insane. Thank you so much for watching. I truly hope you tried this super easy recipe and we’ll see you next week. All right, everyone. Take care.
