First time growing peppers, and this my first pepper ever that has started ripening! Red Chupetinho.

It was also the first pepper to show up on it so it's a bit oddly shaped, but I do not care, I love my babies all the same!

I was on the fence about another Aji because there are so many, but the descriptions of the uses and taste of these aka Biquinho, have me intrigued. I think, though, I’ll take my time for right now as I’m growing out some wild peppers and cultivars like aji charapita, aji charapita peach, wild chiltepin, C. flexuosum, and aji lucento rocoto. C. flexuosum and wild chiltepin started me down this rabbit hole and I intend to grow them as perennials as they are tolerant of colder conditions that will absolutely kill the more tropical Chinense varieties. You picked a challenge for your first pepper grow, and that’s exactly why I went after some of these as they were described as “not for beginners”. I’ll add Manzano (another cold tolerant pepper) and Chupetinho next year as I’m a full blown pepper addict at this point.
