Could you realistically just rip the tag off a cheap brisket and put it on a good one. Not that I’d do it but just wondering if they have a way to look out for that

  3. apex_super_predator

I couldn’t even tell you the last time mine had anything prime

Fuck me! I just paid $5.66/lb at costco for 19lbs

Man, you suck. NSFW tag this shit in the future.

Just how are places selling prime beef at less than 2 a pound

Ngl the Walmart in my area gets some great cuts of stuff regularly that no one grocer around me has. It’s pretty nice.

Amazon is getting aggressive, marketing prime day deals in Walmart!

    Nice find

I worked at Target 20 years ago. They would order a ton of extra meat like this for the holidays when people would cookout (Labor Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, etc). Anything unsold after the holiday would go on a steep markdown. Back then, they would make it down to under a dollar per pound.

It would disappear the same day. Once word gets out, people buy the hell out of it. Back in 2009, I got a couple whole briskets for like 70¢/lb.

Less than 1% of the nation’s herd can be considered prime. You think Walmart has prime

I picked up one on 7/5 that was marked down to $0.99/lb.

The best time to buy almost any meat is the week after the major holiday that involves that meat.

It’s the post-4th sales. Stores stock up for the holiday. Whatever’s left still needs to sell

“Premium” brisket lol. Imagine selling the worst cut of meat on an animal and labeling it “premium”. Butchers used to throw brisket in the trash.

Only show instore or did this show online for your store?

Yeah it’s $4.96 a pound and it’s not prime at my Walmart. You got a hell of a deal man.

I haven’t seen sub $3 prime brisket in Pennsylvania since 2019. What a deal.
