my first ever bell peppers are almost ready to pick!!!

I just want to see if the shaded sides develop a little more color, they’re still patchy, but I’m so excited!!! And the plant has four more little peppers on the way too!!! I’ve only ever grown peppers as a kid in my mom’s garden, and they never did very well because japanese beetles and slugs would obliterate the plants in days, so we’d be lucky to get one or two undersized peppers by the end of the season… but with the power of a somewhat-sheltered porch and the bazillion hungry barn swallows next door, this year I have raised the healthiest pepper plant I think I’ve ever seen! I’ve never seen purple peppers before and picked up the seedling on a whim, and I’m so glad I did <3

Now if only my red bell pepper would join the party and successfully produce even one single flower……. I’m holding out hope for August, lol.
