Northern Florida isn’t messing around. For scale, this is a large (supposedly ghost) pod that I was about to pick until I noticed it was there.

Ah yes destroy, we call wm Grasshoppers here in Sask Canada

  7. The eastern lubber grasshopper. They are kill on sight in my garden. Little tanks, the only natural predator they have are shrikes aka butcher birds, which impale their victims and let the sun bleach the toxins out. Luckily they only come out once a year.

Fuckers Are everywhere this season no one in the Florida sub believes me when I said they were eating my garden and not just invasive flowers 🙃

  9. Ever been bit by one of those? Feels great 👍

If I came across this I would give up gardening. I have a fear of large, unexpected jumping bugs.
