Outside seems fine but the grates are pretty rusted. May go ahead and replace those.

She looks ready to rock as is, tbh. Congrats on the new smoker.

That thing barely looks used, just clean the grates and use as is

Get a wire brush and hit those racks. You only need to replace if the wire has started to rust and deteriorate enough to where it’s going to break. I would take a can of Easy-Off oven cleaner and spray that thing and let it set for a day or two.

Come back, spray it again, then wash it completely to get all that stuff off from the easy off. Then fire that thing off. I’d let it go through one burn in a charcoal. It’s like you got lucky. I wanted to buy one of those same types of smokers.

Wow, what a lucky dude. Clean it up and cook something!

I’m 100% convinced some of y’all are just straight up thieves.

On an unrelated note, does anyone know of a way to detect cameras set up in a backyard? Asking for scientific reasons.

Did Musk lose track of one of his Starlink’s?

  7. I’d take a pressure washer to it or a garden hose and a brush. A grill stone will get those grates looking brand new in minutes. Grates last a very long time and surface rust is normal. Unless they’re broken, there’s no need to replace.

Just fire it up and you’re good to go

Get it ripping hot for your consciousness, and get new grates that touch your food. You never know what may have be on there. The heat will purify, getting a new grate makes sure it is clean. Then enjoy.

You sure you didn’t steal that outta somebody’s yard? My neighbors boat is technically ‘on the side of the road’.

  12. Mikebyrneyadigg

Brother. That has been used maybe once.

    I fucking hate you. Congratulations.

  13. palonewabone

Taking the restraining bolt off that R2 unit will prompt it to smoke better for you.

  14. hawksnest_prez

    …. Nothing?

Spray some oil on the grates a few times and you good

  15. Timmerdogg

Plot twist, it was the BBQ some dude burned poisonous weeds in

  16. HairyStyrofoam

I’m thinking this wasn’t free and OP just stole someone’s grill

  17. Big_Dragonfruit9719

I have this exact smoker paid almost 1k

  18. mccabedoug

For f’s sake what are you asking to restore? It’s new. Seriously

  19. Key-Palpitation6812

Congrats…happy for you…nice. Give it to me.

  20. Mikebyrneyadigg

This just appears to be missing the water pan though, easy and cheap pick up. $20-40 on Amazon.

  21. Dire_Wolf45

let it burn hot for a while to kill anything harmful. looks great otherwise.

  22. I also got one of these that a neighbor put out on the curb. It was basically brand new and came with a cover. Some people just don’t know what they have I guess.

  23. StmblngThru

Long cook a shoulder or brisket. That’s all she needs.

  24. johnnyribcage

What exactly is it that you think needs restored here, bud?

  25. Anthrax23

Dude, that’s my smoker. I put it out there to show it off!

  26. BarkimusPrime

Omg what a find! Prepare for glory!!! And thats cleaner than what i got from my bro who never cleaned it in 11 years. It was so thick nasty it took 3 burn offs after scrubbing to not taste the creosote in every cook

  27. wavydaveywaco

I’m assuming you’re a thief. Whether intentional or not I doubt someone was trying to give this away.

  28. couchpatat0

That wasn’t the side of the street, that was some dudes driveway, and he ran into the garage to get the briquettes and when he came back out his BBQ was gone!
