CALIFORNIA —California wins DoorDash’s America’s Best Delivery By Cuisine, 2024, with two Golden State restaurants named niche cuisine winners.
Southern California took home the best Italian cuisine delivery, while Central California served the best Mediterranean delivery, according to the delivery company.
Who knew Beaumont, a small southern California town nestled in the Pass Area of the San Gabriel mountains, loves their Italian delivery, DoorDash says.

The town’s Domenico’s Italian Kitchen, located at 890 Oak Valley Parkway in Beaumont, was named the best Italian restaurant for delivery nationwide, according to DoorDash.
Further north, Central California’s Mayd Modern Mediterranean restaurant, located at 7090 N Palm Suite 109, in Fresno, also made the grade for best Mediterranean food by delivery across the nation, DoorDash says.

The parameters for the list included restaurants with a single store and over 1,000 positive customer ratings. According to the meal delivery site, Domenico’s meets all those criteria, with over 6,000 deliveries and 1,300 positive reviews.
The meal delivery service identified ten local and national cuisine favorites, including Italian, Mediterranean, Mexican, Burgers, Barbecue, Boba, Vietnamese, Indian, and Japanese. Each winning restaurant featured thousands of deliveries and positive reviews, according to DoorDash.
In Central California, Mayd Modern Mediterranean serves hummus, falafel, and unique bowls like “greens and grains.” Orders love “Easy Street,” the saffron basmati rice, organic hummus, roasted red pepper hummus, lemon garlic chicken, and more. The wood-fired naan is a must, as are their “Naakos,” a naan version of the taco filled with Mediterranean flavors.
Over 2,400 people have reordered from this location in 2024, according to DoorDash, and well over 1,000 have given the restaurant a rating of 4.8 stars.
In SoCal, Domenico’s Italian Kitchen in Beaumont offers classic Italian dishes with a modern twist, from hearty pasta to wood-fired pizzas, according to DoorDash.
Still, Beaumont residents know it for much more.
The management and owners told Patch they were delighted with the DoorDash honor during a recent lunch rush, when the restaurant was bustling.
Domenico’s family restaurant dates back to 1960, and a small take-out deli on Washington Avenue in North Pasadena, according to Door Dash. That restaurant expanded into Beaumont later and is now the favorite takeout and to-go for Pass Area people.
Owners Michelle and Tommy Bitonti shared their thoughts on the honor with Patch, saying:
“We are incredibly grateful and humbled by the honor from DoorDash. We have been a part of the Beaumont community for 14 years and are so thankful for our customers who have become our family. We would never have made it all these years without them. And a huge thank you to our Domenicos staff. They are so amazing and work so very hard every day! We are grateful to DoorDash.
