If your seasonal travel plans don’t include a lavish adventure to the Mediterranean seaside, a rooftop in Venice Beach is making sure you can still have a taste of Mykonos this summer.
In late June, Wish You Were Here Group — the minds behind evergreen trendy hotspots Élephante and Belles Beach House — unveiled Kassi at the Hotel Erwin rooftop.
The Los Angeles outpost comes four years after the success of Kassi Beach House and Beach Club’s dominance in the Las Vegas dining, day club and nightlife scenes.

From the West Coast, Kassi Venice Beach promises a laidback, social experience accompanied by coastal flavors.
“Our goal with any Wish You Were Here Group concept is to create an escape to somewhere transportive, if even for a cocktail or long conversation between friends,” said Wish You Were Here Group founder Nick Mathers. “We’ve been excited about opening a rooftop experience in Venice Beach for years, and Kassi is our answer — giving the community a space for guests to come together over great vibes, shared meals and the neighborhood’s best view.”
Accented by terracotta pots, rattan furniture, handmade tiles, abundant greenery and ocean views, Kassi presents a distinctly Greek island vibe across its expansive 6,000-square-foot space.

Chef-partner Thomas Lim’s menu embraces an Athens-California spirit, offering guests a lineup of mezze, light salads, crudo, vegetable dishes, skewers and dessert. You might start your evening with hand-pulled flatbread with za’atar and olive oil before venturing into a feast of salmon crudo with spicy aioli, avocado and pita chips; lamb meatball skewers and Ouzo orzo with zhoug and whipped feta.

To pair, the beverage selection spans spritzes, martinis, draft options, non-alcoholic drinks and aperitivos. The Honeydew Thyme Paloma (tequila, clarified thyme-infused honeydew melon, grapefruit soda) is a safe, effervescent go-to, while the Grecian Negroni shakes things up with Roku gin, cucumber, Salers aperitif and dill-infused vermouth.

In time, Kassi will elevate its food and beverage program with live music, DJs and other culture experiences.
Kassi Venice Beach is located at 1697 Pacific Ave. Open at 11 a.m., it closes at 10 p.m. on Sunday through Wednesday and midnight on Thursday through Saturday. Reservations are on OpenTable and walk-ins are welcome.
