Jeremiah’s Italian Ice is opening a second location in Baton Rouge at 4343 S. Sherwood Forest Blvd. The soft opening will be July 11 with a grand opening date to follow.
Jeremiah’s Italian Ice has operated in Baton Rouge since 2022. It’s a family business, said Cody Loveland, who is the operating partner for the Baton Rouge locations. His mother in law, Lisa Rapson, is the franchisee, and he and his wife, Kayla Loveland, are co-operating partners.

After almost three years, the family wanted to expand. They were drawn to the South Sherwood Forest location because of the community and potential partners like schools, churches and nonprofits. The location by LSU presents unique challenges with seasonality: there are way fewer students around in the summertime when cold treat sales are typically at their peak.
The new location will help them tap into different parts of Baton Rouge. Cody Loveland said they hope to continue to partner with people for catering events and fundraising.
The menus and offerings at both locations will be identical. The store layouts are also essentially the same. For those trying Jeremiah’s for the first time, Cody Loveland recommend the mango vanilla jelati— he’s been eating it since he was 11 years old. It’s mango ice layered with soft vanilla ice cream.

“It just gives a nice, decadent little twist to the mango,” he said.
For those who can’t have dairy, he likes the mango and strawberry ice together.
Since last year, the LSU location has piloted a new product line called hop-away treats, which includes ice cream sandwiches, jelati cakes and layered quarts of on-the-go ice/ice cream products. Now that the brand has decided to move forward with those products in all stores, they’re running a special on the weekends.
From this weekend through the last weekend of August, Jeremiah’s will be handing out a free slice of their jelatti cakes with a purchase of a different sweet treat.
