Try this! A peanut butter, Butterfinger blast ice cream

This Kroger Deluxe Jammed Peanut Butter Candy Crunch with Butterfinger is an excellent value at only $2.99.

Yes it’s frozen dairy dessert. Beyond being fluffier (airier) than usual ice cream, it’s totally normal tasting. No weird tastes or textures. I could buy this flavor again and again!

I’m learning that frozen dairy dessert can be
awful (Breyers). Or it can be pretty much normal (Kroger, Turkey Hill). I was really put off by Breyers. But I’d be willing to give these two other brands more chances.

Kroger Deluxe Jammed Peanut Butter Candy Crunch Butterfinger

This is Kroger’s cheap store brand ice cream below Private Selection. The “Jammed” means it has more mix ins I suppose.

But there was mix ins galore in this ice cream! Totally lived up to the name. I expected sparse sadness but got pretty much Dairy Queen Blizzard Heath bar level mix ins, and similar taste too.

Sure the ice cream isn’t as dense as Dairy Queen but that’s to be expected.

• Ice cream base: a nice neutral vanilla flavor that’s flavored to a light peanut butter flavor because of the peanut butter swirl.
• Peanut butter candy swirl: this is near the exact taste of the crunchy peanut butter center of a butterfinger. Except it’s not crunchy, but fudge-y and is colored a bright orange. It’s an accurate, butterfinger specific taste.
• Butterfinger pieces: this is truly Butterfinger! The real deal. Has a lot of mix ins. Mostly appears as chocolate pieces of small and large sizes. These aren’t uniform at all but appears like a mixer just blasted the pieces. There’s also plenty of satisfying Butterfinger chunks with all the flaky, crispy, crunchy salty sweet goodness of a butterfinger bar.

***Rating: 8/10. Super good value! Lots of mix ins. A pretty sophisticated taste of salty peanut butter, with a unique butterfinger twist. I love this frozen dairy dessert ice cream. I can’t give it top marks because well it’s frozen dairy dessert. And also maybe the peanut butter swirl taste could be refined a touch more. But I think this ice cream outdoes some higher priced ones.

I like Dairy Queen Heath blizzard, but it’s so overpriced. I would totally get this Butterfinger ice cream instead.
