What’s in these sausages? Blue, I hope.

  2. Not sure, but green ones can be made with spirulina, which taste like … seaweed? Fishy?

For context, these are coloured blue because the butcher is a supporter of the new south wales ‘Blues’ a rugby league team of the best players from NSW. Each year they take on their counterparts from Queensland in a 3 game series called ‘State of Origin”- which many believe to be the pinnacle of the sport.

The series just wrapped up for this year, with QLD winning.

    QUEENSLANDER!!!

I would be disappointed if they didn’t have at least a hint of the blue icee flavor.

Blue. It clearly tastes like blue.

Food coloring often has a very weird or bitter taste. And to get a bright blue you have to use quite a bit.

“We used a different chemical process, but it is every bit as pure”
