Peach season is here, and what better way to celebrate than with a warm, comforting peach crisp made from scratch. Today, I’ll guide you through an easy step-by-step recipe using fresh peaches, a buttery crisp topping, and just the right touch of cinnamon. Let’s get started. Here’s what you’ll need for the peach filling. Six to eight fresh peaches, peeled and sliced. About 6 cups. One4 cup granulated sugar. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1 tbspoon lemon juice, 1 tbsp cornstarch. For the crisp topping, 1 cup allpurpose flour, 1 cup oldfashioned rolled oats, 1/2 cup light brown sugar, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 14 tsp salt, 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed. Let’s start with the peach filling. In a large bowl, add 6 cups of sliced fresh peaches. Then, sprinkle in 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, 1/2 teasp of cinnamon, 1 tbsp of lemon juice, and 1 tbsp of cornstarch. Gently toss everything together until the peaches are well coated. Set aside to let the flavors combine. Now, for the crisp topping. In another bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of old-fashioned oats, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Mix well, then add 1/2 cup of cold cubed butter. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to blend the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture looks crumbly like coarse sand. Preheat your oven to 350° F or 175°. Lightly grease a 9x13in baking dish. Pour the peach filling into the dish and spread it evenly. Then sprinkle the crisp topping over the peaches, covering them completely. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbling around the edges. Let it cool for at least 10 to 15 minutes before serving. Serve your homemade peach crisp warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. The tender peaches, buttery oat topping, and creamy contrast make it the perfect summer dessert. And there you have it. A classic peach crisp with fresh peaches. Simple, sweet, and full of flavor. Be sure to check out this video for more.
