So I cannot eat tomatoes 🍅 but I enjoy growing the plants. So I started to grow strange and completely inedible types for fun.

Inedible but beautiful.

I wonder if that would be good to grow in between edible tomato plants to keep predators away?

It’s like a tomato mix with a rose that’s so iconic

I have an eggplant with spiky thorns on the stems and leaves. Not nearly as big as these but still pokes me if I am not careful. I might try growing that one in my flower beds next year to see if the bunnies leave it alone. LOL

Evolutionarily this plant is fed up with goats.

You can eat any tomato if you’re brave enough.

I gotta grow some of these in Brooklyn. Mine keep getting stolen.

We have been cleaning up a ton of wild roses, black raspberries and prickly ash on our property this weekend. I feel like this would have been the end of me!

nightshades are my favourite family. so cool.

If you want another spikey one there is solanum atropurureum.

alternatively try hunting for nightshades in your local area and bringing seeds back.
