100% Italian. I’m going to show you how to make an authentic Greek salad. When you go to Greece, a real Greek salad has no greens in it. It’s all tomatoes. I’m going to show you how to make an authentic Greek salad the way I was taught while I was in Thessaloniki. You need three to four tomatoes, a large white onion, two jars of pitted calamata olives. You need to use the imported feta cheese block. I’m going to season with oregano, salt, and pepper. I know you’re going to come at me for using the dried stuff, but that is what they used in Greece. Don’t blame it on me. That’s how I was taught in Greece. Cut up your tomatoes into pieces about this big. They’ve got to be bite-siz. And you’re going to cut up your onions. I put everything into a mixing bowl and then transfer it over to a serving bowl. Two blocks of imported feta cheese. Drain your olives and just add them to the mix. Make your life easier. Make sure you get the pitted calamadas. You’re going to add about this much dried oregano. Yes, it’s a lot. Trust the process. Add some salt, a little bit of pepper, and drizzle aggressively with really good olive oil. This is from Italy, obviously. Get that all mixed up.

Because there’s no cucumber or peppers in Greek salad. Go back to Italy.
Greek oregano, Greek olive oil, and red onion make a difference. #CreteGreece
