Those are ants btw.
Are they friends or foes? If foes, how to get rid of them?

Ants on plants, if it’s a pepper or other nightshade, probably farming aphids. Check the underside of leaves, especially new growth on lower branches because they like young leaves that are close to the soil. As for the ants themselves, only certain species farm aphids and I know you can get them to move the hive if you dig it up several days in a row or just throw a hose on a top of it every day for 15-20 min until they get the idea.

  2. Ants are harmless to the plant, but sometimes ants farm aphids, which are harmful. I’d spray them off with a hose just to be safe.
