Top chefs celebrate a culinary legend with dinner

Marcella Hazan is a culinary legend. The late cookbook author should be worthy of a Nobel Prize for her three-ingredient tomato sauce recipe alone. Her life will be served up on the silver screen in the documentary “Marcella” during the Sonoma International Film Festival and will be celebrated on a plate during Marcella’s Italian Dinner at 6:15 p.m. March 20 at the Hanna Center. This four-course dinner features dishes crafted by top women chefs, including Domenica Catelli, Tracey Shepos-Cenami and Gia Passalacqua. In addition, Marcella’s son, Giuliano Hazan, and Rancho Gordo founder Steve Sando will be on hand to share their personal memories. The dinner, which includes wines from Jackson Family Wines, Gloria Ferrer and Brooks Wine, is $250 per person or $450 for VIP, which includes a swag bag with one of Hazan’s iconic cookbooks.
