I’m just extremely proud of myself for not killing the plants and wanted to share the first ripened stepchild with someone. Started germination in mid February, decided to take it easy with cayennes, jalapenos and an ornamental. Next year I’m going wild with the heat though (+ adequately sized pots)

I started with cayennes last year and went off the deep end this year. No looking back now

You were very patient to wait on that pepper to turn red before showing off 😁

You know what, I scrolled past and then decided to revisit and upvote. If it’s your first time, then it’s a big deal. I wish you many more peppers and many more firsts.

A beautiful looking pepper, well done! I grow cayennes every year because I use them the most (red pepper flakes), next is cherry bombs for stuffing with cheese and wrapping with bacon, habaneros for heat, and sugar rush peach for snacking and salads. My point is: grow what you will use, unless it’s just for fun (I do this with count draculas because they are so metal). Have fun!

The pot size isn’t hat small. It’s the major skimping of the soil that makes the pot “too small”.
