French design firm Hamonic+Masson & Associés has just completed the Monsieur Claude restaurant design in Paris with a unique sculpture dubbed Mon Nuage. It is a cloud-like metal structure made from stainless steel tubes — 3,240 to be exact. It is raised in the air and this was done with the engineering firm Bollinger+Grohmann.
This is developed as a public viewpoint and a landmark for the residential district on the western Parisian suburb. Hamonic+Masson & Associés architect Arnaud Grenié spoke about the design project, “We created an architectural folly to create intensity and a focal point that would stimulate public life in the neighbourhood. With its sculptural effect, we definitely aimed to create a bold signature on the square, to convey new emotion and poetry to the site.”
