Every New Year’s Eve my partner and I smash our pumpkins left over from the fall and let a few seeds establish in the spring.
This year they climbed the fence and into the tree and one vine I trained to go up (training meaning I just plopped it on some limbs.) Let’s hope for a pumpkin tree come Halloween.

This is dreamy
I had this happen to cucumbers funnest redbud tree I did ever see
I have a big invasive tree in the back. I know where I’m doing my pumpkin patch next year. Let’s see how high they can climb.
I’ve got an ugly tree that came with the house, definitely gonna start using it as a vine trellis next year and pumpkins sound like an awesome thing for Halloween. Thanks for sharing!
This is so cool!
Do you trim the other vines and just leave one vine on a plant?
Lmao
This is so awesome! Mine are growing around a tree and I’m going to do this!
Make sure you give them some support
If you have any old bras you can use them as slings for your tree pumpkins!
You can use hanging baskets to support the pumpkins from the branches when they start to grow!
I had a trombicino squash go up an arborvitae last year that I did not see at first. It went up the middle and that tree was as tall as my 2 story house the squash plant was right at the top. They are sneaky. I kind of like it when they make their own trellis. LOL
You can fight it or be resigned to let it flow!
Will they get too heavy to hang via the vine?
I’ve stepped foot in this garden personally. It’s immaculate
