Luckily you mentioned the sin tax because it’s a bit weird going to Italy to get a Japanese gin, a bottle of Scotch and a French liqueur

The Etna Rosso, gin, and both Chianti’s are all great.

  3. My country only lets you bring in 3 bottles, luckily border force is also bad, but the idea scares me. Anyway, good haul

Many good wines, but a selection biased towards large producers that are well established on many export markets. You’ll struggle to find the best value with such an approach.

  5. Ya you could’ve bought all of this at your local Total Wine

  6. That right Chianti is a gem. The Le Volte is nice as well, but normally it’s heavily overpriced and it’s a little too touristic to my taste.

I think Nippozzano is a bit boring and available in most markets. Same for Ornellaia. I would double down on Donnafugata wines next time

Man, is Italy dry now? This was a bad haul in terms of quality… which country you bringing all these bottles into?

Missed out the 3B’s Barbera, Brunello, Barola

I grew up in the Lambrusco land and while it warms my heart that you got a bottle of Cleto Chiarli, that one there is the worst Lambrusco I’ve ever had in my life.. good picks otherwise, maybe a little mainstream, but good wines! The Sul Vulcano is my favorite of the bunch!

  11. It looks good, But I am sad you didn’t get Primo Gin (it is Italian, and so freaking good). All together solid haul to avoid some taxes back home.

Perhaps your selection at home isn’t great – but all but one of these can get picked up at a General brick and mortar.
