That’s a nice balanced meal. You got your white…your green…your brown….what else do you want?

Looks pureed for a certain reason, blender action. They put it in a mold so it gives the illusion of what it came from. Usually for people that can’t chew or have a choking complication.

Thats a picture of the food they give to people who have trouble swallowing (people who have had strokes, brain injury, paralysis, very elderly people, etc), they wouldn’t serve it to someone who wasn’t on a special diet that required it.

Been in the hospital and this food don’t look like anything I ate.

Is the chicken the thing that looks like an Oh Henry?

Do you have a special diet by chance? I used to work in memory care for older folks and we did this for people who couldn’t swallow the best. We used a mold to make it look like the actual food for the residents. Sometimes though, the kitchen would get the food orders wrong so people with the ability to eat well would sometimes receive these kinds of meals on accident

Those are purees. You’re on a modified diet. Molding them is actually a sign someone there gives a shit instead I f an ice cream scoop of food

Was that actually chicken?? I’m so fucking convinced that is dried out refried beans….

If it’s at a hospital, it was probably ordered by a doctor or speech therapist to be this way. The meal is made this way to reduce risk of choking or aspiration. People that have had strokes, Traumatic brain injury, or other medical episodes can lose oral-motor function and impact swallowing. Poor swallowing can lead to food entering the lungs and leading to some nasty pneumonia.

I’m a nurse who has worked in hospitals and currently short term rehab and my goodness I’m seriously impressed with the mold for shapes! I’ve never seen that with our pureed goods….I’m used to just slop on a plate….

I fed my baby alive the same plastic food in 1993

  14. Do they have you on a pureed diet? I only ask because I had a resident that had issues swallowing and so he was on that diet and all of his food came shaped like that.

You have all of your food groups there: green, brown, and white!

  16. kipkiphoray

Looks like you’re on a soft or pureed diet.

I’m kinda scared… not sure if real food or playdough…

The peas and mashed potatoes *almost* shaped like peas and mashed potatoes… the chicken on the other hand

This is puréed food. Either you’re on restrictions or you were sent the wrong thing.
